BOOK CLUB
Meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 9:30am for approximately 2-2 ½ hours. Members hold lively discussions about a book previously chosen by the members. The hostess provides coffee.

BRIDGE
This group of novice to intermediate level bridge players meets once a week for several rounds of friendly play. Bridge meets most Mondays from 12:30am to around 2:00pm at the Barnes & Noble Café at the Waterworks. Occasionally we meet for lunch at a member’s home or restaurant. New members who have played before, beginners with a few lessons under their belts, and rusty players are all welcome!

CARDS AND COFFEE
Meets once a month as announced in the newsletter to stamp greeting cards and enjoy coffee and snacks. No crafting experience required. All materials will be provided and instructions will be given. A small fee will be charged to cover the cost of materials.

COOKIE EXCHANGE
Will be held each December at a member’s home. Members will share cookie recipes and enjoy a holiday gathering.

COUPLES NIGHT OUT
Meets monthly on a Friday or Saturday evening as announced in the newsletter. Dinner or outings are announced in advance and participants must call the chairperson for advanced reservations.

GAME NIGHT
Has been coordinated as a Ladies Night Out as announced in the newsletter to play “Catch Phrase”, “Balderdash” or another agreed upon game. Members take turns hosting the game night so times may vary. Hostesses and their assistants provide refreshments.

GLOBAL LINKS
Meets once per month, usually the 3rd Thursday of the month. Lunch follows for those who can stay. Carpooling available. Global Links collects extra medical supplies and medicines (which would have been thrown away) from our hospitals. The centralized supplies are sorted, repackaged and then shipped to 140+ hospitals throughout the developing world, primarily through the generosity of volunteers. To date, Fox Chapel Newcomer's have volunteered 250 hours.

GOURMET GROUP
Small dinner parties are formed every other month to enjoy gourmet food and fine wines. Dinner party attendees prepare dishes to contribute to the dinner according to a themed menu. Recipes and wines will be suggested to help create the themed menu. Dinners will be held at various members’ homes.

LADIES’ DAY OUT
Meets once per month as announced in the newsletter. Outings may include visits to places of interest, special events and exhibits, performing arts productions, or shopping areas. Transportation is by carpool with expenses shared. A Dutch-treat lunch is usually part of the outing. Ladies Day Out for December can be COOKIE EXCHANGE held in a member’s home. Members share cookie recipes and enjoy a cozy holiday gathering (see above).

LADIES’ NIGHT OUT
Generally meets monthly at a local restaurant for Dutch-treat dining. Game night has been coordinated as a LNO as well! (see above)

LUNCH BUNCH
Meets immediately following General Meetings. Members proceed from the meeting to a local restaurant for a Dutch-treat lunch. Information will be announced during the General Meeting and a sign-up sheet will circulate during the first part of the meeting.

MEALS ON WHEELS
Meets twice a month to deliver food to seniors in Oakmont as part of the Meals on Wheels Program. Members usually work in pairs.

MOMS & TOTS
Moms & Tots is open to moms with new babies through preschool age. The group strives to meet at least 3 times each month and to take advantage of local events as they occur. By joining Moms and Tots, your little one has the opportunity to play with other children of similar ages while you develop friendships with other moms in the area. You'll learn about upcoming family-friendly events and may join other moms & tots in trips to kid-friendly places throughout the area.

MOVIE MATINEE
Meets one a month, please call committee chair for more information.

SCRAPBOOK/HISTORIAN
The Scrapbook/Historian is responsible for obtaining, in duplicate, pictures from General Meetings and all social functions from the Vice President or Activity Chairs. Using these photographs, the Historian will produce two scrapbooks of the year’s events, one to be retained by the Club and the other to be presented to the President.

TENNIS
Meets monthly for matches among members. Players at any skill level are welcome.

WALKING/HIKING
Meets informally, weather permitting, for walks along one of the many beautiful local trails. Call chair if interested.

The following activities are currently inactive. However, they may start up again when there is sufficient interest and a member is willing to chair the activity. Notify the Activities Coordinator if you are interested in these or other new activities.

All club members who have houseguests are welcome to bring their guest to an activity provided they have notified the chairperson of that activity and have made the appropriate reservations. Prospective members may attend any two (2) events in any combination of General Meetings and activities before deciding whether they wish to join.
